China Merchant Bank taking the No.1 of card issuance

At the press conference of the 10rd Anniversary of multi-purpose system of China Merchant Bank, the released number of YiKaTong (all in one card) bankcard reached 38 million on an accumulated base by June of 2005 with the average deposit saving balance in the card surpassing RMB4,700. This bank has taken the No.1 position in the card issuance in China.

Mr. Tang Zhihong, Assistant President o f the bank expressed that the retailing banking business was the key direction for strategic adjustment for the bank and multi-purpose system business would be the key player in this responsibility. The representatives of China Unionpay, VISA international and Mastercard internationall stated that they all would offer continuous supports to multi-purpose system development.
